Welcome to the UConn Men's and Women's Volleyball Club. Men's team competes in New England Collegiate Volleyball League (NECVL) while Women's teams competes in Northeast Women's Volleyball Club League (NWVCL). The teams are coached by Jung Park, 2007 NIRSA National Coach of the Year. Entering his 13th season with UConn, Jung also coaches at Choate where his team won 2009 New England Prep Boys title.
We welcome Jeff Sanith as the Assistant Coach to both Men's and Women's program. Jeff, former two time All New England selection as a setter (UConn '07) will assist Jung in all aspects of the program.
2008-2009 Season Review
Men's Team: Spring 2009 was somewhat up and down season for UConn Men's team. After a disappointing quarter final loss in NECVL New England Championship, the team bounced back to finish in top 20 (19th) at Club Nationals in Division 1 AA. Seniors Phil Carlu (OH) and Min Yoon (Libero) earned All-NECVL honors.
Women's Team: Women's team had another solid season led by co-captains, Jane Sherwill (MH) and Megan Wolf (S). Both of them earned All-NWVCL honors. It was Megan's 4th selection. She is one of five players in NWVCL history with such distinction. Women's team made it to Division 1 (top 48 teams in the country) of Club Nationals for the 11th straight year. The team also finished 6th in NWVCL league championships (out of 45 teams).
There are now over 400 Men's and 240 Women's club teams in the country, playing at very high level.
