April 5, 2000 - The Men's team arrived at the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, NV and ready to check in. To their surprise, they were asked to move their bags to a ballroom until management decide what to do with teams participating in the 2000 NIRSA Volleyball Championships. Apparently, teams that arrived a day before did not set a good standard for teams that just arrived. Some teams were diverted to other hotels within Reno.

The night got really long when the coaches meeting started. By the end of the meeting, everyone got a chance to be heard. The Women's team arrived very late at night. They checked in and rested up for competition the next day.
